Meet Meg and Neal!  They’re getting married on March 22nd and chose to do their engagement session at North Hills Mall.  This is the second time that I’ve done an engagement session here, with great results!  I actually find shooting at a location where I’ve shot before more challenging in some ways than shooting someplace totally new.  It would be easy to just replicate the shots that I got the last time, but too much of that leads to stale images that don’t reflect the couple’s personality.  Instead, I try to push myself to come up with something new and unique. When you’re shooting someplace for the first time, everything you do is new, but subsequent times you need to worker harder to find something fresh.  Occasionally I’ll run across a bride who’s looking for a photographer who has experience shooting in her venue.  A skilled photographer should be able to produce equally great results whether they’ve shot there once before or 10 times.  With experience comes the ability to handle challenging lighting situations, etc.  To me, you should choose your photographer based on their overall experience, skill level and style, not simply because they’ve shot at a certain location.
