Last weekend I had a fantastic shoot with Gina and Sam for their Day After portrait session.  I love Day After portrait sessions because it gives us time to do all kinds of cool stuff in different locations that we never would have time for the day of the wedding.  And no, they’re usually not really the day after!  Typically it’s when the couple get back from the honeymoon.  For this shoot, Gina and Sam met me at our mountain property outside of Boone, NC.  There’s a beautiful creek that runs along side the road there and I’ve always thought it would be perfect for this kind of session.

After we finished up at the creek, we headed into Blowing Rock where we caused quite a stir when Gina and Sam got ice cream cones.  Here, Sam tricked Gina into closing her eyes for a kiss, then stole a bite of her cone:

Then we headed up to the Blue Ridge Parkway to try to catch the last of the sun.  At first we had trouble finding an overlook that faced the right direction, but with a little perseverance, we got this:

Many thanks to Gina and Sam for be such troopers!  It ended up being a pretty late shoot, but they were enthusiastic the whole time, and as always, very fun to work with!
